Chart - Online Ad Revenues

Online ad revenues increased by 18% year-over-year to reach $20.1 billion in the first half (H1) of this year, according to the latest revenue report [PDF] from the IAB and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Needless to say, that sets yet another peak for online ad revenues, which totaled $10.3 billion in Q2, in itself an 18% increase over the year-earlier period and a 5% quarter-over-quarter rise. Revenues have now grown by double-digits on a year-over-year basis for 13 consecutive quarters. Search retained the largest share of revenues, while mobile continues to be the fastest-growing format.

Mobile revenues were up 145% year-over-year during H1, reaching $3 billion. That rapid growth propelled mobile’s share of revenues to 15%, up from 7% during H1 2012 and just 4% a year earlier. Read the rest at MarketingCharts.
