Nielsen recently released its local TV market universe estimates [PDF], comparing the DMA rankings for 2013-2014 with the prior year. While there were no surprises among the top 10, which remained unchanged, the list does reveal that the number of TV homes overall increased by roughly 1.6 million (or about 1.4%), to 115.8 million. Those increases were not limited to the top 10 DMAs, despite each seeing gains in the number of TV homes. The top 10 accounted for slightly less than one-third of the additional TV homes, growing at a rate (1.5%) similar to the overall average. Read the rest at MarketingCharts.
