Even local radio with its “Morning Zoo” DJs and high school football game coverage is, to a degree, digital. And that may be what keeps it on the air for the next five years. According to the just-released US Local Media Forecast for 2011-2016 from BIA Kelsey, local online/interactive/digital advertising revenues are poised to grow 13.1% in 2012, with some segments like mobile search achieving far higher numbers. Mobile search will grow 77.2%, online video will grow 51.6% and social will grow 26.3%.
